1. Human Resources Manager

Position Overview

The Human Resources Manager will oversee HR operations in the Northwest States of Nigeria, specifically in Borno and Yobe.

Under the guidance of the HR Director, the manager will facilitate recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and compliance with HR policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Vision:
    • Implement Mercy Corps HR systems.
    • Collaborate with the HR Director to establish annual HR work plans and monitor progress.
    • Conduct training and development needs assessments for staff.
  • Recruitment, Selection, and Onboarding:
    • Ensure adherence to recruitment guidelines and government regulations.
    • Coordinate orientation for new staff on organizational policies and procedures.
    • Facilitate the issuance of identification cards and necessary documents for new hires.
  • Human Resource Management:
    • Act as a liaison between the HR team and staff members.
    • Collaborate with field HR members to ensure synergy in HR initiatives.
    • Maintain tracking systems for employee leave and performance management.
  • Team Management:

2. Country Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Manager

Position Overview

The Country Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Manager plays a vital role within the Program Performance and Quality (PAQ) Unit. This role involves managing and coordinating all MEL processes for Mercy Corps Nigeria’s humanitarian programs, supporting data collection, management, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership:
    • Provide leadership and mentoring in developing M&E plans and tools.
    • Collaborate with external evaluators to design program assessments and evaluations.
    • Ensure that programs utilize M&E systems to inform and improve program quality.
  • Information Management:
    • Work with program and M&E teams to implement a holistic M&E system.
    • Provide guidance to ensure M&E systems meet the needs of program managers.
    • Contribute to program design to adhere to M&E best practices.
  • Capacity Building and Mentoring:
    • Build the capacity of team members to maintain an excellent M&E system.
    • Ensure M&E skills are incorporated into all program positions.
  • Internal and External Coordination:
    • Collaborate with sector clusters and regional counterparts to promote M&E best practices.

Qualifications

3. Cleaner

Position Overview

The Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in Mercy Corps facilities, including the office and guesthouses. The role includes providing light administrative support as needed.
